On a recent no-school day, the kids and I went to the Inglewood Bird Sanctaury-one of the many great outdoor experiences offered in Calgary. The trip actually was kind of a failure-it was too windy and cold, Evan and Sarah argued a lot & big surprise-there were no birds! (So I had expected there not to be many birds, but hadn't prepped Sarah for that idea.) I guess on the bright side, I got to practice a few photography things, we got a little excercise, and right near the end we saw a porcupine way up in a tree (Top photo-right in the center).
